  • All purely factual data and metadata is contributed under the CC0 Deed

This licence is irrevocable and granted in perpetuity. The copyright in all content contributed to the project under the CC BY licence will remain with the contributor and all use of the content will attribute the content to the contributor.

MOLA is committed to processing information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  Any personal data collected will be held securely and will only be used for administrative or copyright attribution purposes.

Media Contributions

Please only upload media such as photographs and videos that you have taken yourself or you own the rights to use.

If someone else has granted you permission to contribute their media then they must either use the contribution form themselves, or contact the project directly via email at GhostSigns@mola.org.uk.

If you find media of a ghost sign on a website, social media page, book, or other source, please do not upload it. Instead, use the Media Notes and Media Links fields to tell us where you found it by providing a website link, book title, archive reference, or other source information. This helps us learn about the sign while respecting the rights of the creator or organisation that owns the media.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept media where the copyright belongs to someone else. This is because our project does not have the legal agreements, permissions processes, or administrative systems needed to manage and store third-party copyrighted material.

Thank you for helping us document Ghost Signs responsibly and legally.
